John Thomas Rose

multimedia journalist

After graduating from Elmhurst College with a degree in Spanish, John Rose enrolled in the visual journalism program at Brooks Institute in Ventura, California. While at Brooks, he spent seven weeks in Vietnam working on the annual international documentary project, and worked on two domestic documentary projects that took him to New York City and The Black Rock Desert in Nevada. In Spring 2012 he worked a four-month multimedia internship at the Science Desk at National Public Radio headquarters in Washington, D.C. In December 2012, Rose graduates from Brooks Institute with a Bachelor of Science in Visual Journalism.

Capturing the nostalgia of a moment and sharing someone's story is what inspires Rose to pick up his camera.
